I chose Egypt because it offers something rare: a chance to experience one of the most enduring and recognizable design languages ever created, right at its source. Travel, in general, has a way of expanding an artistic practice; it pushes you to see differently, notice patterns, and question your assumptions. But Egypt is especially powerful in this way. Its visual culture has remained iconic for thousands of years, from hieroglyphs to monumental architecture, each symbol carrying layered meaning and intention. Being immersed in that history sharpens how we think about our own work, and inspires our practice to expand in concept, materiality, and even scale. The more we understand the symbols, systems, and stories that shape the world around us, the better we become as designers, creatives, and storytellers.
